Call Out To Dog Stranded on Cliffs - 24/05/2007 Coincedentally, the shout was for a cliff rescue, however one with a difference! A black labrador had fallen several hundred feet down cliffs on Cilan Head, whilst on a walk with its owner. Abersoch Coastguards guided the Lifeboat to the spot where they believed the dog to be and the Lifeboat's searchlight soon picked up a pair of eyes reflected in the beam, on rocks just above the waterline, a few hundred meters off the shore. 2 crewmembers were landed onto the rocks and they managed to catch the distressed animal and get it onboard the Lifeboat, which returned to station. Back at the Lifeboat Station, the dog (Winnie) was re-united with its grateful owners and remarkably, it appeared that it had sustained no major injuries.
