Rescue Of Foal: This took place on Friday 24th June. Holyhead Coastguard received a 999 call from a member of the public reporting a stranded animal at the bottom of cliffs near Porth Ceiriad. The animal was a foal that had fallen down the cliff. The position of the animal meant that a Coastguard cliff team requested Abersoch Lifeboat to assist. When the lifeboat arrived on scene a member of the public, Graham Eaton, had already gone ashore from a powerboat to comfort the animal and a lifeboat crew member also swam ashore. They then swam the foal out to the lifeboat and the foal was taken back to Abersoch Lifeboat Station where it was found to be uninjured and later re-united with its owner. Thanks to the Eaton's for their assisstance and photographs.
