Abersoch Inshore Lifeboat "Margaret Bench Of Solihull"
Returns From Refit: 29/05/2007

After several months away, the Abersoch Inshore Lifeboat has returned from its 5 yearly refit. The refit process involves dismantling the boat and replacing most parts so that the Lifeboat can continue to perform effectively and safely whilst on service. A major engine upgrade has also taken place with the Evinrude 70hp engines replaced with specially modified Yamaha 75's. These engines are modified by the RNLI, so that unlike a normal outboard, they can be restarted in the event of a capsize. They will also improve the performance of the Atlantic 75 and increase its top speed.

The helms took the Lifeboat out on exercise with Divisional Inspector, Andy Clift and all were impressed with the performance that the new engines provide.
